The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments were given by inspiration of God, and are the only sufficient, certain and authoritative rule of all saving knowledge, faith and obedience.
There is but one God, the Maker, Preserver and Ruler of all things, having in and of Himself, all perfections, and being infinite in them all; and to Him all creatures owe the highest love, reverence and obedience.
God originally created Man in His own image, and free from sin; but, through the temptation of Satan, he disobeyed the command of God, and fell from his original holiness and righteousness. Because of this, his descendants inherit a nature corrupt and wholly opposed to God and His law, are under condemnation, and as soon as they are capable of moral action, become transgressors.
Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, is the divinely appointed mediator between God and man. Having taken upon Himself human nature, yet without sin, He perfectly fulfilled the law; suffered and died upon the cross for the salvation of sinners. He was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended to His Father, at whose right hand He lives to make intercession for His people. He is the only Mediator, the Prophet, Priest and King of the Church, and Sovereign of the Universe.
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is the unifying power between God and humanity, and is the source of our comfort, guidance, and strength. The Holy Spirit helps us to understand and appreciate the Bible, and helps us to live out its teachings in our lives. We believe that the Holy Spirit is with us always, faithfully guiding us in our walk with God. We also believe that the Holy Spirit gives us gifts such as wisdom, knowledge, understanding, so that we can be used to serve God and spread His love.
God is revealed to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit each with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence or being.
Saving faith is accepting God’s truth about Christ as it is revealed in Scripture. It means resting in Jesus alone for forgiveness and eternal life. This faith is brought to life in our hearts by the power of the Holy Spirit, is marked by spiritual growth, and results in a life of heartfelt obedience to God.
We believe in the power of prayer, both individually and corporately, as an expression of faith in God's work in our lives. Prayer is an essential part of a Christian life and is used to talk to God and to communicate with Him. We pray for guidance, strength, healing, protection, and for our families, friends, and community. Through prayer, we seek to deepen our understanding of God's will and His plans for our lives. Praying helps us grow closer to God and to gain a better understanding of His will and how we can best serve Him. When we pray, we open ourselves up to God and He will answer us in His own way and in His own time. Prayer is a beautiful and powerful way to communicate with our Heavenly Father and to seek His love and guidance.
God has always been in control of everything that happens in our world, either by directing it or allowing it to occur. He constantly sustains and guides all of creation and every event. While God is sovereign, He is never the source of evil and never approves of sin. His leadership over the world does not remove our personal freedom or our responsibility for the choices we make.
Election is God’s eternal choice of some persons unto everlasting life—not because of foreseen merit in them, but of His mere mercy in Christ—in consequence of which choice they are called, justified and glorified.
Regeneration is a transformation of the heart accomplished by the Holy Spirit. Just as God brings life where there was none, the Spirit awakens those who are spiritually dead, opening our minds to truly understand and receive the Word of God. This renewal of our entire nature changes our deepest desires, leading us to love and live out God’s holiness. It is a miracle of God’s free and unmerited grace alone.
We believe repentance is a work of grace where the Holy Spirit makes us aware of the depth of our sin and its impact on our relationship with God. This awareness leads us to humble ourselves with sincere regret, turning away from old patterns and toward the goodness of Christ. Rather than a single moment in time, repentance is the beginning of a lifelong journey of walking in step with God’s Spirit and being transformed into a life of holiness.
Through Justification, God declares us 'not guilty' and fully forgives our sins. This isn't something we earn through our own good works; it is a free gift given to us because of what Jesus did on the cross. We receive this peace with God by believing and trusting in His Son Jesus Christ and the perfect life He lived.
Sanctification is the lifelong process of being changed by God. Once we are given new life in Christ, the Holy Spirit and the Bible work together to transform our hearts. Those who have been regenerated are also sanctified by God’s word and Spirit dwelling in them. This growth doesn't happen all at once; it is an ongoing journey where we rely on God’s strength to follow Jesus and live a life that honors Him.
Jesus Christ is the head of the Church, which is made up of all who truly follow Him. He holds all authority over His people and calls us to join together in local congregations. Within these local churches, Jesus provides the leadership and direction needed to worship together, care for one another, and live out His commands. Our church is led by those serving as Elders and Deacons.
Baptism is a beautiful picture given to us by Jesus to show our faith in Him. We practice baptism by immersion to symbolize being joined with Jesus in His death, burial, and resurrection. It is a public way of saying that our sins are washed away and we have committed to a new life in Christ. This significant step marks our entrance into the life of the church and our shared participation in the Lord’s Supper.
The Lord’s Supper is an ordinance of Jesus Christ, to be administered and observed by His churches until the end of the world. It is in no sense a sacrifice, but is designed to commemorate His death, to confirm the faith and other graces of Christians, and to be a bond, pledge and renewal of their communion with Him, and of their church fellowship.
Those whom God has saved and set apart will never lose their salvation. Although believers may stumble into sin and face the consequences of those choices, God’s grace is stronger than our failures. He continues to work in our hearts, bringing us back to Himself and keeping us safe in His hands forever.
The Lord’s Day is a gift to the Christian community—a time for us to come together as one body to celebrate Jesus. We honor this day by prioritizing gathered worship and personal time with God. It is a day to rest from our usual jobs and activities, allowing us to recharge spiritually and focus on works of mercy and necessity that serve our neighbors.
We believe that while our physical bodies return to the earth at death, our spirits live on in God’s presence. For those who follow Christ, this is a time of rest and peace. We look forward to a coming day when God will raise everyone—both those who followed Him and those who didn't—to life for a final judgment and the full restoration of His kingdom.
Justice is a core part of God’s character. We believe there is a coming day when Jesus Christ will judge all of humanity. This is a day of ultimate accountability where every secret is known and every action is seen. While those who persist in sin apart from God face eternal consequences, those who have found grace in Jesus are welcomed into an everlasting life of peace in His presence.
